Heavenly Dew

  • We are like plants or vegetables that in order us to survive in this chaotic world we need a dew to refresh us and to sustain us in our everyday endeavors and mission in life.

The dew is a source of freshness. It is nature provision for renewing the face of the earth. It falls at night, and without it that vegetation would die.

I will be like the dew to Israel (Hosea 14:5)

The dew that I'm talking here is the dew of the Holy Spirit the heavenly dew. In the scriptures the dew is often recognized and used as a symbol of spiritual refreshment. Just as nature is bathed in dew, the Lord renews His people and refreshed them with the power of The Holy Spirit.

Heavenly Dew (Renewal by the Holy Spirit)
Many Christian missionaries do not recognize the importance of the heavenly dew in their lives, and as result lack freshness and energy. Their spirits are withered for the lack of dew. Now they are experiencing spiritual dryness.

We need God everyday not occasionally. It is not sufficient to have spiritual nourishment occasionally. You will experience spiritual dryness then eventually you will give up. Everyday we must receive the "renewal by the Holy Spirit"

Quiet and Stillness bring the dew (Prayer Time)
At night when the leaves and grass are still, the plants' pores open to receive the refreshing and invigorating bath. Just like us, spiritual dew comes from quietly lingering in His presence. It is in our prayer time where we can allow the Holy Spirit to refresh us. Get still before Him, for haste will prevent us from receiving the dew.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7)
Wait before God until you feel saturated with His presence. Then move on to your next duty with the awareness of the freshness and energy of Christ. Dr. Paradington

Be still and know that He is God (Psalm 46:10) to receive His grace.
Dew will never apprear while there is either heat or wind. Absolute rest is needed before the invisible particles of moisture will become due to dampen any plant of flower. And just like the grace of the Lord it does not come to bring rest and renewal to our soul until we completely reach the point of stillness before Him. (BJ)
